What is the key to a successful Enterprise Blog?

Enterprise blogs are different. They serve a limited purpose, which is to help their clients through information. The do not exist to bring in a million visitors a day from Turkey, or Ghana. They exist to expand the business of the enterprise and assist its clients through information.

It is futile to use viral terms - such as obamacare, FIFA World Cup, or others - for the sole purpose of getting more eyeballs. These actions damage the reputation of your brand. They do not help your clients in any way. In the long run, search engines can punish your blog - making it virtually invisible.
The key to building a solid enterprise blog, that boosts your brand and improve your sales, does not lie in text dumping - blogging frequently about non-relevant subjects. Instead, the key is found in posting relevant information with unique and compelling material.

Let’s assume you run a web design company. In that case, it is not worthwhile to spend your energies on writing about the Romance of the Three Chambers (a classical Chinese novel). You can focus on telling about your company, what it is doing, and general advice on web design. It will serve you in many ways.

For one, it will maintain consistency and build your expertise. Google prefers expert websites over those that serve general content. The more content you have about your practice area, more high your blog is going to rank. And remember, the purpose of an enterprise blog is to serve clients (not get random clicks from far off countries.)

Another key to building a strong blog lies in managing it well. Protect it from spam, do not use black-hat SEO, and keep your attention on focusing your clients - instead of improving the number of visitors alone.
